Andrew Iles

Director

Andy brings a wealth of property development and finance experience in a professional career spanning more than 15 years, having held roles in both the private and public sectors delivering and advising in relation to some of Australia’s most complex urban renewal projects.

During this period Andy has worked with organisations including Places Victoria/VicUrban, The RNA in Brisbane (Showgrounds Project), MacroPlan Australia, Todd Capital (NZ) and the global real estate group of EY. While at MacroPlan, Andrew was responsible for the demographic and market research group within this nationally recognised consulting firm.

Andy’s particular strengths lay in his ability to create incredibly complex yet informative bespoke dynamic models for mixed use urban renewal projects, and his ability to flow chart the complex interconnected elements of the development and approval processes

Dominic Arcaro

Director

Dom has a wealth of commercial and property development experience in a professional career spanning more than 20 years and a proven track record in the visioning, business case/feasibility creation, planning and delivery of complex and innovative urban renewal, mixed use, mixed tenure and infrastructure projects.

Dom commenced his advisory career in July 2012 after seven years with Places Victoria/VicUrban where he was the Chief Development Officer. During his time there, Dom was responsible for more than 30 development projects with particular emphasis on urban renewal and infill, activity centres and new business projects across metropolitan Melbourne.

Dom has always played a very hands-on leadership and delivery role in both his corporate and advisory careers and has been the driving force in securing the necessary stakeholder support – in all its forms – to deliver the desired project outcomes. Dom has strong communication skills and is able to explain complex development and market concepts for audiences with varying levels of property and development knowledge.

Matthew Snow

Senior Consultant

Matt joined NAVIRE in 2015 with ten years of professional experience working as a construction and development lawyer with Minter Ellison Lawyers, manager of planning and infrastructure policy in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, and as a Senior Development Manager with Places Victoria and the Metropolitan Planning Authority.

Matt brings together a combination of strategic policy and technical delivery skills that are critical for the delivery of large, complex projects and transactions. Over his career, Matt has gained valuable experience providing strategic land realisation advice to Government and non-for profit organisations, as well as conducting the market processes to deliver on that advice.

Matt specialises in project and process management, opportunity and risk assessment, stakeholder engagement and commercial and legal negotiating. He has extensive experience in Government briefing, decision making processes and business case preparation.

Claire Knihnicki

Senior Consultant

Claire, a qualified accountant, has almost 20 years’ professional experience across the private and public sectors, with a background covering both corporate and commercial roles in the UK and Australia, with a focus on the property industry since 2002.

Claire’s key skill is to design and develop financial solutions and simplified reporting that assist in the delivery of organisational objectives. In addition, Claire’s areas of expertise cover development feasibility and financial modelling, financial planning and budgeting, accounting treatment and processes, management and statutory reporting, audits, risk management reporting, taxation and systems development.

Claire’s experience has been gained from public practice at Grant Thornton (UK), Finance Manager at Dimension Data (UK), 10 years at Places Victoria (and its predecessor organisations – The Docklands Authority and VicUrban) and since 2013 Claire has supported Dom and Andy across a large range of projects.

Fergus Stewart

Consultant

Fergus joined NAVIRE in 2014 after 7 years’ experience working for strategic planning and economic consultancies in Melbourne. Fergus specialises in market research, demographic analysis and forecasting, policy review, retail demand assessment, economic impact assessment and the provision of economic advice in planning (including structure and master planning).

During his consultancy career, Fergus’ experience has included work for both the public and private sectors on activity centre, retail, residential, commercial, education and industrial land studies / strategies. This has included research and analysis for important urban renewal projects in Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.

Fergus has also delivered a number of economic impact assessments / studies for prominent food and grocery retailers and major developers in NSW and land holders in Melbourne’s south east growth area.

Daniel Keady

Analyst

Daniel joined NAVIRE in 2018 after 3 years’ experience working as an Analyst for a medium sized property consultancy firm. In his time as an Analyst, Daniel has specialised in property market research, demographic analysis, population forecasting, and policy analysis, for both public and private sector clients.

Daniel has gained experience across a variety of consultancy projects including market and land use assessments and population forecast modelling, with a focus on the national greenfield market.

Over the course of his professional career Daniel has built his technical research and analysis skills – currently adding to his qualifications a Graduate Diploma in graphic information system (GIS) mapping – and developed his knowledge of the factors that drive development.

Matt Sabbadini

Analyst

Matt joined NAVIRE after 1 years’ experience working for the Victorian Planning Authority, assisting teams with strategic land use planning and urban design outcomes at a State Government level.

Matt worked closely on sites in the National Employment and Innovation Clusters, assisting planning teams with 3D massing models of sites and yield analyses. He assisted in researching Melbourne’s housing supply and its proximity to key services, such as public transport and amenities.

Prior to this, Matt was studying Urban Planning and Urban Design at the University of Melbourne (B-ENVS), from which he graduated with First Class Honours.

Through his studies and work, Matt brings a nuanced knowledge of spatial systems, in conjunction with sound urban design and planning outcomes, all of which help inform his research driven analytics.
